Welcome to the hawaii youth symphony!

As Hawaii’s only statewide music program for youth, the Hawaii Youth Symphony offers a full spectrum of music education. We welcome students, ages 8-18 years, from any school on all islands. Each year, HYS serves approximately 600 students, from nearly 100 schools, who enroll in either the HYS Academy or our symphony program. Participants range from absolute beginners to Hawaii’s finest young musicians. We produce, on average, 25-30 concerts per year, half of which are free to the public, including Listen & Learn educational concerts for 10,000 school children and chamber music concerts in elderly care facilities, hospitals and other community venues.
