Welcome to the Musical Round! It’s the Hawaii Youth Symphony’s cyber round-table where we welcome voices from all parts of our community to share thoughts on music. We believe that exposure to diverse musical perspectives and experiences will help our young musicians develop their own musical compass. We also think the Musical Round can serve as a resource for our community-at-large. The more, the merrier!

Although we plan to post insights into the minds of some really thought-provoking bloggers on a pretty regular basis, we want to create a rich and diverse forum and invite anyone from our community to jump in on the Musical Round! Feel free to open conversations with our bloggers or become one of them. Blog as frequently (or infrequently) as you like. Blog once, blog weekly, blog whenever the mood strikes. We want to hear it all.

E-mail your blog with a headshot and brief bio to blog@HiYouthSymphony.org. We’ll have to run new bloggers through our editorial team, headed up by Blog Maestro Alan Okami, and get everything scheduled, so it may take a couple weeks to add your initial blog to the Musical Round. But we’ll get it posted as soon as we possibly can, and we’ll be shouting out to people to check it out via our Facebook fan page and our Tweets.

This is new territory for HYS, but we have high hopes for creating a community of music lovers engaged in stimulating, inspiring, intelligent, humorous and heart-warming exchanges. So go ahead, start gathering your thoughts, let the music play and unleash your ideas. The Musical Round awaits!
