Jeremy Lawi Joins HYS as PMI General Manager

HONOLULU (JANUARY 17, 2020) — Hawaii Youth Symphony is pleased to announce the addition of Jeremy Lawi to its administrative team, in the role of Pacific Music Institute General Manager. Lawi succeeds Jason Chin, who was recently named Vice Principal of Ma’ema’e Elementary School.

Jeremy Lawi earned his Bachelor of Music Degree in Percussion Performance at the University of British Columbia and Post Baccalaureate Certificate in Music Education from the University of Hawaii. He currently serves as the music program head at Mid-Pacific Institute and teaches a variety of music courses from grades 6-12. He has previously taught at Kailua Intermediate School and directed the Iolani School Percussion Ensemble.

As PMI General Manager, Jeremy will be the main administrative contact for students, parents, and faculty. He will oversee the Student Life Coordinator and Admissions Coordinator, Chaperones, and volunteers. HYS President Randy Wong said, “Jeremy brings outstanding passion, versatility, and ambition to the Pacific Music Institute team. I am confident in his ability to help HYS maintain high standards of equity and excellence so that students across Hawaii and beyond can achieve to their fullest potential through our summer offerings.”
