Symphonic Band

Session B: July 6 – July 14, 2019 (ages 10-18)

The PMI Symphonic Band draws outstanding wind, brass, and percussion players from across the Pacific Rim. It provides opportunities to study and perform works from the repertoire of great wind ensemble literature composed from the seventeenth century through modern day.

  • Formerly known as the “PMI Core,” Session B’s Symphonic Band Program provides a¬†formidable large ensemble experience for students of all band instruments.
  • The workshops are carefully designed to develop musical and technical skills. In additional to sectional coaching, instrument-specific techniques will be covered by the faculty.
  • Each instrument section will be assigned 1 faculty member per 10 students, for an optimal classroom learning environment.

Students who play the following instruments may participate: Flute/Picc., Clarinet, Saxophone, Oboe/English Horn, Bassoon, Horn, Trumpet, Trombone, Euphonium/Baritone, Tuba, Percussion.
