Pacific Music Institute (PMI)
PMI is an intensive, immersive music program with ensemble experience at its core.
While some students who sign up to PMI are new to HYS, many others return each summer as they continue to forge friendships, build musical skills, and perform with fellow young musicians from the Pacific Rim.
Multiple program tracks make this program a popular summer opportunity for students of all backgrounds and experience levels.

All financial information will be kept confidential and used only for financial aid decision-making purposes
Neighbor Island Students
Travel Assistance Available
Students from all Hawaii islands are encouraged to audition and apply for travel assistance. In addition to Financial Aid and Scholarships, HYS has funds to assist with neighbor island students with travel expenses (airfare and ground transportation) for rehearsals and concerts.
Every time I hear HYS perform, I think how awesome Hawaii will be with these people as our future leaders.
Music for All
There isn't a single child who shouldn't be exposed to orchestral music, especially thanks to HYS.
Participating in HYS was an amazing, life-changing experience. I made lifelong friends and learned to respect myself.
