Our Mission is to foster fun and creative experiences for youth that inspire a deep appreciation for music and lifelong relationships within the culture of our islands.
YOUTH
HYS welcomes youth ages 7-18 from all islands and beyond. Interested youth of all levels, and nearly every instrument, have a home in our programs.
ACCESS
Over 110 public, private and home schools are represented annually; including neighbor islands, Wai‘anae-Nānākuli, and Windward O‘ahu.
Thanks to our donors, need-based financial aid funds support youth throughout HYS.
COMMUNITY
HYS is just part of an incredible Hawai‘i. Learn how partnerships advance music’s role in our communities, and support our drive for social change.
EXCELLENCE
As youth progress through HYS, they develop into the best versions of themselves. HYS undertakes artistic collaborations with heroes and renowned artists to provide students with role models and mentors.
CONCERTS
HYS performs FREE concerts throughout the year—even virtually. Our students and faculty bring heart and soul to every note; a joy to see and hear!
